Parece que fue ayer que escuchabamos esta bella canción.

Nos remonta al pasado, pero su letra es muy actual.

Los años han pasado, la gente está lejos pero los recuerdos quedan guardados en nuestra mente.

Historia

En los años que precedían directamente a esta canción, Jackson había compuesto ya varias de sus canciones. Su álbum Off the Wall, lanzado en 1979 y producido por Quincy Jones, incorporaba dos de sus composiciones: “Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough” y “Working Day And Night”, así como un tercero co-escrito con Louis Johnson, “Get On The Floor”. En muchos aspectos, el álbum "Off The Wall" sirvió como aviso de todo lo que estaba por venir. Jackson había causado una gran sensación en un sector de la población que escuchaba R&B y también en parte de la población general, con su sensacional rock, sus bailes y sus geniales puestas en escena. El éxito duraría más de una década.

Con “Thriller”, Jackson y Jones intentaron sobrepasar esta hazaña. Una de sus ambiciones era incluir una canción rock en el álbum nuevo. Uno de los momentos cumbres de mi adolescencia fue cuando en medio de un partido de los San Antonio Spurs anunciaron la presencia de Christopher Cross, hijo ilustre de San Antonio y todos le aplaudimos.

Tan solo 2 años antes había sacado esta extraordinaria balada, Sailing, la cual llegó al #1 en Billboard, y lo convirtió en una megaestrella del Rock.

Sailing es una canción, escrita y cantada por Christopher Cross en su álbum de debut en 1980, que trata acerca de los placeres de navegar.

Fue tal el éxito de esta canción que lo llevó a arrasar con los premios Grammy de ese año, ganando el de Canción del Año, Arreglo del año y Mejor Nuevo Artista.

Invisible Touch - Genesis (Video, Lyrics & Chords)

Invisible Touch (en español "Toque Invisible") es la canción de apertura del álbum del mismo nombre, perteneciente al grupo británico Genesis, y que fuera publicado en 1986. También fue el primero de cinco singles que produjo este álbum.

Se trata de una pegadiza canción pop, y tiene un sonido muy similar al material de Phil Collins en su carrera como solista durante esa época (luego de dejar Genesis en los 90, Collins la seguía interpetando en sus conciertos). Se encuentra estructurada mediante una repetición de verso y coro (con una modulación cerca del final).

Las letras de "Invisible Touch", cuentan la historia de una mujer quien puede controlar tu corazón luego del primer vistazo. La ligereza, tanto de la música como de las letras estaban muy lejos de la canción de apertura en su trabajo anterior, "Mama", el cual también fue el primer single en dicho álbum.

"Invisible Touch" era divertida, y si desilusionó a los seguidores más veteranos del grupo, le abrió la puerta a cientos de miles nuevos. La canción fue publicada en un single en mayo de 1986, acompañada de "The Last Domino" (la misma versión que se encuentra en el álbum). Algunas ediciones incluyeron una versión remixada extendida, realizada por John Potoker.

La canción fue interpretada durante la gira "Invisible Touch Tour" y la de su próximo álbum "We Can't Dance Tour", y aparece grabada de esta forma en el álbum The Way We Walk, Volume One: The Shorts.
