"We Are the World" es una canción escrita por Michael Jackson y Lionel Richie en 1985, producida por Quincy Jones y grabada por un gran grupo de músicos famosos formado especialmente para la ocasión que se denominó Usa for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa). La grabación de la canción se realizó el 28 de enero de 1985 y publicada el 7 de marzo del mismo año por el sello Columbia Records. Los beneficios obtenidos por la canción fueron donados a una campaña humanitaria para intentar acabar con la tremenda hambruna en Etiopía.

Las terribles imágenes de la hambruna sufrida parte del continente africano, principalmente Etiopía, dieron a Harry Belafonte la idea de realizar una campaña de recaudación de fondos con fines humanitarios. Su manager, Ken Kragen, le sugirió formar una unión de artistas al estilo de la exitosa banda Band Aid, formada por músicos británicos en 1984, para grabar la canción "Do They Know It's Christmas?" con fines similares.

Kragen eligió la fecha y lugar de grabación (28 de enero en Hollywood) para asegurar la asistencia de tantos intérpretes como fuese posible. En la invitación escrita que envió Quincy Jones a cada uno de ellos, se les advertía que "dejasen su ego en la puerta". La convocatoria fue atendida por 45 músicos, incluyendo Bob Geldof, que fue el promotor de la Band Aid en Reino Unido. Los vocalistas que interpretaban algún fragmento en solitario, fueron rotando entre 21 de los cantantes, entre los que estaban importantes nombres como Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Steve Perry, Bob Dylan y Bruce Springsteen. En el coro, actuaron todos los componentes de The Jackson five.

Columbia Records donó los costes de producción y distribución a la campaña, así como los beneficios obtenidos por la canción. "We Are the World" llegó a las tiendas de EE. UU. el martes 7 de marzo de 1985 y vendió las 800.000 copias de la primera edición antes del fin de semana. El 5 de abril del mismo año, más de 5.000 emisoras de radio reprodujeron la canción de forma simultánea. La canción llegó a ser número 1 en ventas el 13 de abril y se mantuvo en esa posición durante 4 semanas.

La canción ganó los premios Grammy de "Canción del año", "Disco del año" y "Mejor actuación de un grupo Pop".

Tan sólo en EEUU, el sencillo de la canción vendió 7,5 millones de copias. Posteriormente fue incluida en un álbum musical, llamado también "We Are the World", que vendió más de 3 millones de copias. Además de la canción "We Are the World", el álbum incluyó canciones de Prince (que había rechazado participar en la grabación), Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner y otros artistas, así como la canción "Tears are not enough" fruto de una iniciativa similar en Canadá.

Los beneficios conjuntos del sencillo, el álbum, el videoclip y Merchandising relacionado con la canción "We Are the World" superaron la cifra de 50 millones de dólares.

"Hello" es una canción de Lionel Richie; fue el tercer single de su álbum multiplatino "Can't Slow Down".

Esta canción se estreno en 1984, y tuvo la particularidad de alcanzar el #1 en 3 de los rankings de Billboard; estuvo 2 semanas en la lista de pop; 3 semanas en la lista de R&B y 6 semanas en la lista adulto contemporanea.

Para muchos es la canción con la que está identificado Lionel Richie.

Posiblemente el video musical atrajo más atención que la canción por su historia. Celebrando los 30 años de Grease (Video de Summer Nights)

Esta fue una película que marcó mi generación, hasta ahora se recuerdan los bailes y las canciones que habían en ella.

Grease fue una película musical, que rodada en 1978 en Estados Unidos bajo la dirección de Randal Kleiser.

Se basa en el musical creado por Jim Jacobs y Warren Casey, del mismo título y que data de 1972.

Fue la película que lanzó al estrellato a Olivia Newton-John y que ayudó a consolidar el suyo a John Travolta.

La trama trata de Sandy y Danny, que se conocieron en las vacaciones de verano y deciden despedirse pensando que no se van a volver a ver, pero por sorpresa y de forma casual se vuelven a encontrar en la nueva escuela donde ella ha ingresado. Pero Danny no puede estar con ella debido a que tiene una reputación de tipo duro que mantener, así que Sandy planea cambiar para estar con él.

Actualmente se esta escribiendo el guion de la tercera parte de la saga, en la que se pretende mantener al mismo elenco que de la primera parte. Lo ha afirmado Olivia Newton-John (Sandy, en la pelicula) y Travolta volveria a ser Danny.

La historia ocurre 25 años después de que Danny y Sandy se graduasen. Se han casado y tienen una hija adolescente. Kylie Minogue es la candidata para ser la hija de la pareja.

Aun así no hay nada decidido, ya que tanto Travolta como Olivia están esperando los guiones para ver si sera un buen proyecto a llevar a cabo.
